Connecting Waterloo Region Communicators

Checking in & exciting communications thought leadership

From inside the Café at the City of Mississauga’s City Hall, on a clear sunny day, showing the reflection of the outside buildings on the inner windows.

A little over a month ago, days after starting commUnity, I signed a contract for a new job after a long sabbatical. The job started last week.

The time before starting was full. Planning, thinking, school, holidays. Working out to ensure I could physically manage the commute without reinjuring my knee. Trial trips. Baking! Clothing! Food! Expenses! Navigating the family routines.

As I’m sure is true for many, it was a busy and joyful time, full of promise and excitement. Contemplation, stillness, there wasn’t a lot of room for that.

Of course, now that I’ve started, there is a whole other layer of thinking and activity in play. But the need for connection and commUnity has only grown.

More on this in the next post this week. 😉 Sign up, if you haven’t already, to get deets on our first meeting!

Thought leadership

Meanwhile, as part of the Master of Communications Management program at McMaster, cohort MCM17 needs to publish thinking about communications. My cohort’s articles, published in early December, cover communications from different angles, grouped here roughly by topic.

We are doing another round right now, so stay tuned for more!
